got the old Dept of interior truck running yesterday!!!
NOW of coures its snowing and have to plow, and make some $$$$
Did the complete tune-up, flooded the motor with oil, and the top with marvil mystery oil, (it was not stuck, but tag said 1980, oil change, 27 years, oil it up)
Dumped oil in morning, plugged in battery,, whaaalaaa,, she runs!!!!! just after a mild 27 year sleep....
then i found out why she was retired--
the rear pinion yolk was flapping around with the drive shaft...
i guess i started it in gear, but it rolled in, with rear broke... so 4 x4 in to the garage,(outside) because the marvel oil was coming out the exhaust,(smoke) so i heated it up to 165, shut it down, dump the oil, changed etc..
what rear end fits this civi?? 3/4 ton wwii stuff???
truck started on first turn.., but the carburator, needle, (first thing in to carb)
wont let fuel in, i cleaned it, moved freely etc,, but had to remove, but floods out now( i used an electric 2-3 psi fuel pump)
hhmmm,,, new mystery....
i just kept attaching the pos cable to the pump, on and off,, keeping carb full,, i left the carb full all night, hoping the fresh gas will loosen up any stuck carb parts,,, thanks for all the help
