Don't know the year of your truck, but up to 56 you could get a Cigar Lighter Package w/bulb to illuminate the knob. The kit had a clamp and shell so I would think it was not an in dash mount, but an under dash mount. Ash receivers or ash trays were available as well, but not sure if they were an in or under mount. The one in your truck appears to be a nice custom job by someone.
I don't smoke cigarettes, but I do treat myself to a good Cigar once in a while when driving down the road in my truck – very enjoyable – both things!
