Ok, I am almost ready to mount my two rear crossmembers. But I am wondering if I should take the spring mounts off first and clean out all the crap behind them. If I do, obviously I will have to re rivet them in place. I am wondering just what I'm getting in to with the rivets. Also, the hole in the frame above the little rivet that holds the spring mounts, does that serve a purpose other then letting crap build up in the mounts themselves? I have a problem with what looks like creosote that was poured in the bed and has coated the frame under the entire bed. Wouyld it be worth it to change the spring mounts anyway? If this link below works, I have down loaded all the pics of my project so far. Any help would be appreciated. I have to get this done soon so I can finish the frame so I can finish paying Steven Fowler for my motor.
