No patterns or matching digits between engine and truck serial numbers. No included build sheets either that I have ever heard of.
I believe that is one goal of the Power Wagon Registry. To get enough known trucks registered and documented to develop patterns and/or correlations between numbers. So someday, if someone is building a truck with a known serial number, but the engine had been replaced at one time or another, a general range of engine numbers can be determined, one of which should be correct for the truck.
Maybe other patterns could develop as far as relating to anything else that has a number on it (winches, belt pulley drives, etc.).
