I prefer to use ratchet straps (the 4-inch wide type the truckers use to secure their loads) with frame mounted ratchet winch for securing the front axel. I still use a 3/8-inch high tensile chain on the rear axle. This makes for a very secure system that won't loosen up when a chain link pops over a sharp edge or a twist comes out of a chain, because the 4-inch strap has a little stretch in it.
