Hi all,

Advice is needed to mount a 2000lb winch in the pick up bed of my F-350, diesel. The main concern is what gauge to use to extend the leads?

I would like to be able to quickly remove the winch and the leads to the hand held controls.

The desire is to extend the leads so I can steady a motorcycle, or a load as it moves up the ramps.

That means I need:

1)A lead from the Battery to the pick up
wall just behind the rear seats, approx
12'.
2)A lead from the bed wall to the control,
approx, 16'. Plugged in at the wall.
3)A lead from the control swith back to the
winch, approx 16'. Another plug for a
quick disconnect.

I would like to be able to unplug the leads at the wall.

The winch requires 130amps at 2000lbs,full pulling capacity. It is a 1.5hp, 12VDC.

The handheld control unit has 7', 6 gauge leads on it.

What gauge wire is needed to make the extensions. I am assuming either 6 or 4.

Anything else I should consider??

Thank you,
