Yes, it doesn't hurt to run the additives once in while though. The seats are hardened steel but the valves are not as tough as the later engines designed for unleaded. With that being true it still takes 10s of thousands of miles to damage the valves by excessive high rpm driving. I throw in additives about 2 times a year on rigs that I have driven daily and had no cracked valves.
