3 terminals on Voltage reg. Bat - Field - (cant remember name, gen?) and a ground of course.
There is a total of 4 wires connected to the VR.
Aluminum VR housing.

I also am experiencing this phenomenon known as "brain drain"
But no worries, I think the problem is solved. I haven't a clue what I did different, but it stayed charged all day and ran fine. Tomorrow will see a truer test because I'm leaving the terminals conneceted all night.
