Went fourwheeling in the Blue mountains just west of Clarkston Wa. today. My buddie's "Fummins" (79' Ford Bronco with 3.9 Cummins) lost all forward gears for some reason. I ended up winching him back up on firmer ground, then dragging the disabled (read lame horse here) beast down the road. I hadn't made it more than about 300 yards when I hit a soft spot (we had been running on top of nearly four feet of snow) I spun it down pretty deep trying to get out but I just couldn't pull the dead bronco and myself up out of the hole. So I started to drag the cable out, and he said "wow do you really think that winch will pull both trucks through this"?? and I said "I'm pretty sure it will as long as it doesn't yank those pine trees out of the ground" So just out of curiousity (I've never loaded ANY winch like that ever before)I left the tranny in nuetral and only engaged the winch. When we got back up on the road, my buddy hopped out and gave me a hand spooling in the cable and he's like "WOW my 8k# Warn wouldn't do that, what's that thing rated for??" I said I was pretty sure it was rated for 8K# also. But I'm pretty sure that he did't believe me. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful, got the Bronco back to town but haven't dissassembled the tranny yet.

Power wagons forever!!!
