Cheapo Harbor Freight heat gun and 3m Decal remover from NAPA. I got a lot of practice on my 1984 Ford Ambulance that was a rescue truck. Found the best way was to heat the vinal lettering and then carefully peal of with a putty knife, then the decal remover. It is a slow and messy job. It took nearly three cans to get stuff off, but there was the department seal, the medical snake and all the lettering. Seems like the part that was reflectorized seemed to be the worst stuff to get off. Tried Acetone and would not phase it. I need to get out the buffer and some cleaner wax to equalize the paint color..
