I'm not up on Dodges, but 3/4t trucks usually have a 8,000# gvw option. 1 tons are heavier, but qualify for the FET, "luxury tax". My F250 has a net of 4,000#, and a 12,000 towing capacity. I can't ever think of exceeding that. And 8,200# rides plenty hard enough.

But so far as used trucks, condition and price may mean more than GVW. And gas vs diesel more than 2500/3500.
