I thought those waves looked familiar. Scripps Pier, La Jolla, San Diego.
So, not a truck in the surf. Just some kind of wave or current or fish measurers. But the photo would have been taken from the nude beach north of the pier... perhaps that's what bring's Terry's pier to his mind? right in front of his peers?
