I've got a wheel on my WC-51 that's down one of those screws because I had to drill it out and haven't found a replacement yet. Like Mark, I didn't see an obvious need for the screws, so I haven't stressed being short one.

I've got to agree with Marks theory that the lug nuts will hold the drum on the hub pretty safely without any extra help from those screws... Do they center the drum to the hub better than the lug bolts or something?

I know I might learn more if I went out and took apart a drum and stared at it for a while... but it's cold out there this time of year! So how about having some pity on the uneducated Mike/Paul?
