That is a repair sleeve. Speedi-Sleeve is a brand name of CR Services (Chicago Rawhide). Redi-Sleeve is a brand name of National Oil Seals (Federal Mogul). VPW may have sold you either one. Both are quite expensive as they are made of stainless steel. I have been told that CR and National has merged, so there may no longer be any differences between the two. For a complete listing of oil seals and repair sleeves for the WDX-WM300 Power-Wagon, click the link to the t137 site below.

The flange is designed to be snipped with a pair of dikes and removed by "winding" it off once the sleeve is installed. Kind of like opening a can of peanuts (40 years ago). Expect the remaining edge of the installed sleeve to be sharp and ragged after the flange is removed. Sometimes the scribe is not very deep and the sleeve can be stretched and distorted along this edge as the flange is "torn away".

I always place the part I am installing a sleeve on in a freezer for a couple of hours prior to sleeve installation. Then heat the sleeve on an exposed light bulb right before installation. The sleeve will slide on much easier. As an added benefit, I always coat the damaged surface of the yoke with an anaerobic sealer right before pressing the sleeve on it. Anaerobic sealers set up hard in press fit situations due to the lack of oxygen.

The anaerobic sealer I like to use is Loctite Gasket Eliminator 515 Sealant. I also have another tube of the same thing and it is labeled "518 Sealant". Both are Loctite item number 51813. Another is Permatex Anaerobic Gasket Maker (item # 51813 on the tube, item #765-1189 on the Napa package. I have been told that Loctite and Permatex have also merged, so again, there may no longer be any differences between these two either.
