I personally do not care for speedi sleeves for places where oil is what is being sealed. That said.
The sleeve does not need to cover the entire yoke only the portion that the seal rides on. If you look closly there is a area cut on the shoulder of the sleeve allows that portion to be cut off.
If your seal is riding on the sleeve area you may have other issues. Bearings?
Some people do use sealers between the orginal yoke OD and The ID of the speedi sleeve this can help if the yoke surface is very rough. I re-sleeve the entire surface of my yokes by machining the entire surface with a sleeve that is about .093 wall Then cut it to the correct OD for the seal.
If you are not in a hurry i will do this for you.
