PW Registry Numbers

I was over on the registry site and I noticed that there are lots of PW's registered in the lower years especially the mid/late 40's. When you get up to around the late 50's the number registered drops off significantly. Must be those returning soldiers really did want those trucks like they used to drive in the military!!
