i personally wouldnt buy one from another vendor if ray was still in production here or in thailand. i'd wait for him to get his new shop set up. he has always done right by me and his quality is excellent. over the years he wasted a lot of his time listening to me bend his ear about my specific projects. if you can really get someone to make a kit id be surprised as the guys making chevy and ford stuff are really good at math and risk vs reward. once they find out that there is little market for the products and that the main supplier of parts - vpw has their own failed project, the'll run to the hills. if an american craftsman that we all like and respect moves with his wife to thailand does that change the man or the product? will moving to thailand suddenly cause ray to make inferior products? i dont think so and i hope the move affords him the freedom to concentrate on expanding his offerings.
dan shockley did a great job on the arb locker project but struggled to get 100 orders. the total universe of ffpws and m37s that would want discs is likely somewhere less than 300 kits. any more than that, id be surprised. not a lot for 2 or three vendors to eat from.
