Speedometer spring source?

I decided to fix the speedometer on the Sno-Cat. I got it all taken apart and cleaned out and it looks like all I need to do is repaint the dial and replace the spring. I suspect the last part is going to be tough, but surely somewhere there's a source for speedometer springs. This one is broken and wadded up in a ball around the shaft. I think it broke when dirt got in the magnetic cup and jammed it up. I just want to buy a new spring. I don't want to send it to somebody to rebuild it. I'm sure the rebuilders would do a perfect job of it, but there's no need to put all that money into it when I can do all the work myself and just want it to be functional, not "restored". As it is the "Snow speed" dial is in pretty rough shape, and I know there are no new ones of those around anywhere, so I'm just touching up the white paint, lacquering over the whole thing to hold the rest of the paint together and calling it good. It's basically the same speedometer I see in regular Dodge trucks of the same vintage, so the spring should be a standard one. Tucker put an extra "snow speed" dial in it, inside the regular dial, to compensate for the gearing.
