Several yrs ago my youngest son bought a throughly abused 4x4Isuzu Trooper with self-contained automatic mechanical hubs. He spent wads keeping the clunker running until the tired 4cy finally quit. Those hubs always worked like a charm. I took one apart and repacked it after replacing the soft metal wheel studs. It seemed to be a fairly simple lockup when the transfer case was engaged and would release when you rolled back a couple of feet in 2wd.
Question: Has anything like this ever been available for our old flatfenders and WC's?
