The dana was used on the 6 cylinder trucks and the Timken on the flathead 4 cylinders. (I think) They are easy to tell apart: the Dana has a pressed steel cover that bolts onto the back of the housing, and the Timken housing is in two halves (side to side) that bolt together around the ring gear. My buddy's truck has a Dana 51 (???) that is very uncommon in anything else but a 6cyl. Willys. I don't think that the small Timken axle that Willys used was very common either, but I think I have seen them under some smaller industrial equipment like a Ditch Witch trencher. Any of the "all terrain" industrial applications like a trencher are a great place to find limited slip or locking differentials.
