Ron did you change the cam also? I keep hearing that the Wieand was discontinued (???), the stock 4 bbl manifold is fine, a bit heavy and prone to cracking across the heat tube that traverses under the carb mount. I found that while hiding the stock appearance, and working fine, the Pertronix did not come close to matching the Mopar Performance electronic ignition kit. The distributor and orange box that comes in the Mopar kit is far superior in the performance department.
YES, the spacer is a must to keep the bottom end alive when using the Wieand and it would be nice to have an old Offy dual port manifold and a spread bore carb, but the Edelbrock is the old Carter AFB, not a bad choice.
