HA! I know this is off the subject, and I will probably be lynched by the drivel police, but this reminds me of my recent travel to Mexico.

My ride was late in picking me up to take me to the airport, and if I missed the flight, it would delay my arrival home by a whole day - so I started trying to communicate with a Taxi driver to take me to the airport. My Spanish is limited to the amount that I have learned from my kids taking lessons on the computer in their homeschool classes.

I tried the "Que mucho dinero para el aeropuerto?" only to be looked at in a strange way. Finally through me taking US Dollars out of my wallet, and making airplane noises and gesturing with my hands - he understood the question, but I couldn't understand his answer!

At that time, my ride showed up - and the Taxi driver and I smiled at each other relieved that we didn't have to play the charades game anymore.

Anyway, I learned that the proper way to ask is "Qué cantidad?"

Obligatory Dodge content: There are a bunch of old (Late '60s/Early '70s) Dodge trucks down there - all of them with 2 rear axles sporting duallies. Dump trucks, cattle trucks, etc. Funny thing is that there are also a bunch of old Fords and Chevys on what look like the same odd-fitting chassis.

I obviously can't carry on a conversation with any of the drivers, but will have to get a translator to see what he can find out about them. It is almost like there was a Mexican truck maker who made the chassies and then used any american cab that they could find to mount on them.
