Ray switched from an 8 hole to a four hole. I talked to him about this when I was in his shop one day. He states that the four bolts have more than enough strenth for the application. There should be no problem according to him. Using just four bolts also reduces his overall cost.
I have both but have not installed a 4 bolt system yet. I had some concerns at first.
