I bought it because I want to be able to do some of my own HVLP painting and will be spending a lot of time grinding metal on my Road Runner and wanted something that could keep up.
It is a 220 volt unit - I finally got everything wired through a 30AMP breaker box last weekend and fired it up for the first time - everything seemed to work OK, and the motor ran smooth without getting under too much load, but I haven't done anything but fill up the tank twice.
It's my bet that all of these are made in China or India and painted to whatever color the store wants - I doubt there is much difference between them, but time will tell.
