Spring observation

I parted out a Power Wagon today. When I pulled the rear springs I realised there was no shackle. Someone had eliminated them and put the eye of each end directly to the frame brackets. Must have made a stiffer than usual ride. Funny thing was, the spring pins all looked like new and the springs were in nice shape. I dont think it got much use after being set up that way.
