Over the years, I have tried many of the inertia type contollers, including the Tekonsha Prodigy. I still have some of the collection, never to be used again. I never was happy as you always felt the trailer brakes. None of the above were true proportional braking controllers. Presently on the market are two true proportional controllers. If you step on the brake pedal a tad you get a tad of trailer brakes. Any further amount of pedal adds the same proportional brakes on the trailer.

Brake Smart makes a nice unit that couples into the brake hydraulic lines. I did not want to go that route due to new truck warantee. Jordan Controller is a full proportional unit that attaches to your brake pedal with a special bracket and Stainless Steel Aircraft cable. The cable has a quick release so when your not towing, you can unhook it in 10 seconds. When you apply the brakes with a Jordan controller, you will NEVER feel trailer brakes apply. Your Tow truck and Trailer brakes are one, in true proportion. You have never pulled a trailer until you try full proportional trailer controller. I feel the cost is well within reason at $139.00 for the maximum security in brakes.

Check out their web site for full details, you will not be sorry.
