This trend of asking huge prices, and, sometimes getting them, is, in my opinion not good for our hobby. High prices will prevent many interested people from even considering the purchase of one of our beloved trucks as a project. As we all know, the purchase is just the start of the expenses. Heck, even if a person buys one of these high dollar, "totally restored" trucks, the cost to maintain it will add up as parts costs increase. Soon, this will be a hobby just for the rich. The trucks will show up at shows now and then, but never will we see any out earning their keep, or tackling the trails. The wealthy owners will not want to scratch their toy.
Of course, on the other hand, If we are a seller, we stand to make a windfall. But, how many of us pour our time, money, and sweat into one of these, just to turn around and sell it.
In my opinion, the skyrocketing prices are bad for our hobby.
Jeff
