I was in Nantong for 3 months earlier this year and had a great time. I enjoyed so many people I met and they are very helpful to Americans.
I even had some pw fenders made while I was there, by hand!!! I asked the shop for 2 sets and I ended up with 4 right sides. They did them as a favor so I didn't complain.
