Snowing like crazy in Vermont :<(

Rained all last night and all day today. This afternoon I look out the window and it had just turned to snow! We have about 2" stuck on the ground so far and its still coming down. Joan suggested it would be a good time to build a fire in the woodstove so I headed to the cellar for some wood. Thats when I discovered that we had 3 inches of water covering the cellar floor. Have spent the evening pumping it out and sponging it up. Nothing like a flooded cellar to prompt a clean-up. The rain raised the water table so quickly that the water came up through a floor drain. 20 years in this house and have never seen it do that!
Dodge content, I would have rather been working on the Power Wagon than swamping out the cellar!
