We've used propane many time over the years, couple rules of thumb to take into account, propane will deliver about 1/2 the mileage of gas, at 40 cents a gallon that's fine, but not at 75 like it is here now, and definately not at over a buck a gallon. As was mentioned in the other posts, in a driver it's fine but under a load you'll loose enough power to be unhappy with it. There's also the loss of space required to mount the propane tank(s). On the upside, it can set for years and start like it was running the day before, and no one is likely to steal the propane, if your truck sits for long periods at a time it's a wonderful setup.
