I believe this is the weakest link on these old mopars.
doesn't the oil enter the cranks on these flat heads
in tha middle of the crank ? As #5 rod bearing wears
more oil "leaks" out of #5, leaving less oil to
feed #6.I'd heard years ago that some mechanics, when rebuilding one,
put a restricter in #5 (a small pipe plug w/ a hole
smaller than the original one drilled thru it), there by
leaving more oil to get to #6. Why don't you try it, drive a few hundred thousand miles
and let us know if it helps w/ the longevity.
