It could possibly be a rod . It wouldn't cost you much to pull the pan and drop a rod cap to look . Even if you had never done this you will not get into any trouble that can't be easily fixed. All this depends on other things like how well does it run ,does it use any oil . My dad told me long ago that these old knocking mopars will run for a long time by doing nothing but replacing the rod bearings. Besides what could it cost other a 30 dollar set of bearings and a pan gasket set .
