The optional/replacement PW/M37/WC 3/4 ton gears are 4.89, not 4.88. That's important because one shouldn't get the idea 4.88s from new diffs i.e. 9.25" Chrysler will work in these old 3rd member - they won't. I have heard from that steel thrust washers from 9.25"s will replace the fiber washers in the old Dodge 9.625"s. Bob Stahl sells bronze washers for them. I have learned the hard way that the fiber thrust washers hould be replaced with metal ones at any opportunity.
