Check the firewall teminal block for continuity and corrosion. Also, there may be capacitors attached to the back of the gauges that regularly fall off. I know on my 75 D200 those things dropped off like leaves in fall, they rattled around, drove me nuts! But more likely, your terminal block is grungy.
