A smog 360 in a 1979 is not a bad thing- remember the Little Red Express? Fastest Production vehicle of 1978 and 1979. Faster then a Corvette. If you're lucky and have an E-58 engine, YAHOO!
The small block chrysler can easily (and cheaply) put out 500 hp, which is plenty in a truck.
These are great trucks. The only reason they seem to be scarce is the full time 4x4 was only used I think 2 years. By the way, the front axel on these IS a dana already, just without the locking hubs.
