The switch should just pull out I think.

The last truck that had the screw underneath on the ignition switch was the 1956 12V C-3 PW. 1957 was the first year for the screw on nut.

It may be stuck on the lip behind the hole, you may have to lift, or turn the switch to get it out.

chriscase is right, if you want the lock cylinder out of the switch, then turn the key to one side and push in the pin.

The pin should not prevent removal from the dash though unless it is sticking way up, which is should not if the nut was on as the nut threads over the pin.

I would look it over closely, see if you can find an obstruction, and then wiggle with moderate force.
