I think of myself as Christian, and like you, stand in awe of these people's capacity to put Christ's teaching of loving not only thy neighbor, but thy enemy... into actual practice.
From a distance I can see that the shooter's wife and young children are victims here too... but I have not lost one of my own children. The Amish who are able to forgive, and even reach out to these others in what must be a time of terrible pain, teach me a thing or two about the faith I try and follow.
Humbling.
