He knows that only an OSHA approved mechanic should mount/dismount wheel/tire assemblies from a Power-Wagon, so he mounted it backwards on the truck so that when the ring blows off, it will travel towards the truck instead of away from the truck, thus preventing the chance of it injuring someone resulting in lawsuits trickling down through the ranks of the Power-Wagon community.
