Digging into this a little further and I'm finding most of the electric valves have a closed center so the work ports are open to the tank so there is no load on the motor when in nutral. so.... I'v turned to a regular spool valve for controling motors instead.
Cover me, to make sure I'm thinking about this correctly.
My current set up ( I think you have seen pictures, and I would post some but can't figure out how)

OUT of my pump and IN to the control valve for my plow, this has an open center and returns OUT and runs the flow back to the tank. If I add a single spool to control the hyd. motor for the winch, I would come OUT of the plow control valve and IN to the new winch motor control valve, then OUT of the motor control valve and back to the tank, as long as I have an open center on both valves, flow should always be going in circles, the only draw back would be, I can only use one at a time ( which is no problem fo me in this case) I guess the only other way would be to get a 3-spool valve body and use one spool for the motor and the other two for the plow.

sound right, or was I too muddy in my thoughts?

Scott
