Had our first real rain since June last night. It snowed a bit up at Lookout Pass. It was a real dry summer but we got by without any bad fires except for Ulm Peak on the Montana line a good ways north of here, which was way away from anybody's place. Now it's time to get everything fixed and covered and ready for winter. One of the fall jobs I like least is taking the batteries out of all the rigs, but with no plug-in juice for trickle chargers and not enough sunshine for solar chargers, batteries always run down and freeze if left out over the winter.
