Struggling in CA

I am still having problems with my windshield weather stripping. I leave for Seattle on Monday and I need to have my rig water tight by then. I don't know what I'm doing wrong because the weather stripping from VPW looks about an inch too long. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. The man at VPW told me he has sold hundreds without a problem, and I believe him. I must be doing something screwy. Can anyone help?

Dick Strever: Heres a picture of my frined Nick, my father, and myself after my first test drive in your old pick-up. It runs like a champ and feels solid as well. I don't have a picture of the back end, but the fuel tank is installed and is waiting for a bed. Thanks again for a great truck!
