It may not be a heating problem. You may be getting air into the fuel system. By stopping and putting water on the pump, you are letting the truck sit long enough to let the air bleed off. what you need to do is when the truck stops yous a vacumm gauge and check the fuel on the inlet side to see how much vacumm it has to pull the gas from the tank. Should be around 5 to 10 inches. Make shure the line from the tank is free and clear, good flow from the tank. Check any rubber hose that is in line. The old hose comes apart inside or swell up and restrict the flow of gas. Good luck. Bill.
