He welds the cracks in cylinder heads. He has a system with a preheat oven, and then metal sprays the filler in. Ought to be pretty seamless.
I've also seen collectible Stanley wood planes that were repaired, I dunno the process, but the welder charges 50% of the planes value. Can't see the weld, even after polishing. Some 'block planes' are worth $2,000. For One.
