My guess would be the WC53s were being used allot on the run ways and around the base. At this time the M37 had come out and it had a bigger and better light over the WWII stuff. So, lets up grade the WC53 to the 1950s! It is just a neat little item in the history of the truck. Remember, this is a truck that was dropped after one year of production because the Army did not want it, but in survice with the Air Force, it stayed on till the 1950s. Just like the GTB trucks, they were first made for the Army and lend lease, but nobody wanted them. The Navy ended up with the prodution run, BEST THING SENCE GRAY PAINT, they stayed in service till the late 60s!!!
