Great job on the image event detail of the tranny rebuild.
One caution-if someone rebuilds the tranny top, be sure to follow the manual EXACTLY.
My shifter lever had excessive wear in the ball groove, producing too much slop, so I needed to take it out and fix it. The groove was restored by a guy who is very good with a mig welder.
If the NP 420 is like its predecessor (non synchro), to get the shifter rails out the tranny lever MUST be in neutral. If not the detent balls will break the casting when the rails are driven out. Been there, done that!
