notice I didn't say there weren't any out there I just said I don't know anyone who has one that has lasted that long. I also mentioned the thing about how they have to replace the engines every 40k in japan and I wondered out loud if that would cause someone who is designing them to worry about designing a long lasting vechiles if they realized that little bit of info.

It would be a rather difficult thing to do since the average human is very lazy. I mean why design something to last 10 years if there is a law that says you can't have it for more then 1? Does that make more sense? I am going to go out on a limb and and say there are japan built cars and truck that are still on the road with lots of miles on them, I just don't know of any. All the long running trucks and cars I know of are "American" made. The other part of that is I don't have any good friends who own any foriegn.
