This discussion got interesting.

My Carryall (WC53) will go very fast over 90 MPH. Been there once and no more. It will travel at 70 MPH all day long and be very stable. The owner previous to me put in the V8. I have rebuilt everything and put power disk brakes in. It is great for that purpose. When I rebuilt it I removed a lot of mods and added a few. The truck can be taken back to original with little trouble. If someone wants to. I removed a lot of non-original mods. The mods I did were a NP200 tranfer and power disk brakes. I left the V8 in.

My 51 PW is basically bone stock. All I have done to it is to put in Rays below the floor power brake system with a dual reservoir. It is easily reversed out if someone wants to. I like the safty factor. I am about ready to put in a NP420 transmission. It's case came out of a M37 so it will bolt up to the original bell housing. I will put front disk brakes on it for safety reasons and my drums are very over size. I do not mind modifying with period or similar parts or sometimes newer stuff. I will not cut up a solid truck and will make sure all my mods are easy to remove.
