...it's that you don't have the experience to know that you can't use a ferd web site as your information source. A ferd can't climb a 10 degree slope much less a 35 or 45 degree slope....= )
OK, "no one" believes you because some of us here have seen it first hand.
Let's re-cap, what started this slope discussion was a topic about brakes. My post, that you jumped upon, was hyperbole about wet drums just before you break over a 45 degree drop off, which was used to make a point, and I was talking about downhill. However it is certainly possible (amazing to say, there is more to off-road life than a Power Wagon) for a properly set-up vehicle to also climb a 45 degree slope.
This is where our first point of contention began, you wanted to point out to me that I must have confused the difference between a 45 degree slope and a 45 percent slope.
If you want to be taken seriously, in spite of your lack of experience and age, you should first assume that everyone else is not an idiot. People with experienced driving skills, using 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder motors with stock tires have been climbing slopes that steep for over 50 years. Vehicles with modified tires and experienced drivers can certainly do better. Put that book down, use those calcs for toilet paper, get outside and take a trip to Moab sometime, watch, listen and learn.
There is much to be said for education, but it has nothing to do with knowledge or experience.
