Hi Gang:

After much difficulty and doubt, we nade the show. Friday morning, the Beast was still in pieces, and I didn't know if my re-wire would work or if the Beast would even start. As ya know, I was ready to chuck it, but the wife told me she had taken off work to go, so I knew we HAD to go, or there'd be a funeral in Uggville, mine.

Well, the show was better than last years show, more vendors with actual parts, and some genuine vintage military stuff. Vehicle wise, the 1st day was better than the 2nd. The weatherforecasters were calling for big storms all weekend, but they missed the area.

IMHO, the BEST Lookin vehicles there (including the museums) was when Bob & John drove up in Bob's 2 WC 63's (one restored & the other modded). Hopefully Nammy will post the pic of them. Dodge wise, there were Bob's and my WC's and 3 M 37's. The museum had what they posted as a WC 54, but was actually an M 601 (or 3, whichever is the # for an ambulance).

There I was, suffering from sleep depravation, pain, frustraion and MAYNARD, when all of a sudden, I spotted this huge yellow thing coming up the road. It really stood out as it was a very dreary day. It, it was a Power Wagon? No, it had tandem rear axels. What the heck.... It was towing a monster trailer with what I knew was a WC 63 on it, and that it was beautiful. THEY BOTH WERE!

I was so out of it at that time, drool formed in my mouth and tears welled up in my eyes. My complextion turned a dark shade of green. As it turned out, Bob is a real nice guy (my 1st meeting in person), so I really couldn't hate him for having such fine machines. A fine craftsman too. Mere words can not express the care and detail that went into those 2 trucks. I wanted to hide the Beast (my complextion changed to bright red).

We made it thru the 1st day (which is still a bit of a blur), only forgetting to bring things like CHAIRS and a cooler, and also forgetting to unload some items I brought to sell. Maynard brought one of his buddies with, so basically, they disappeared 4 minutes after we parked, and I think they only popped back a couple of times during the day. HA!

Met a friend of Mr. Cook at the show which proves my theory that it's a small world until ya have to walk home. Still, all in all, we all had a good time. I'll be sending Nammy some pictures to post.

Later
Ugg
