If you think those little lines cast in the side of the 9.00's do anything to retain a tire on the rim, your judgement needs adjustmnet. Almost all tires have lines on the side. At the best, they show whether the tire is concentric to the rim. There are other strictly off road tires that do have a j-hook to protect the rim, but 9.00 ain't it. There are also tires made with a curb-protecting sidewall rib, but 9.00's don't have that either.
